ABOUT WASHINGTON ALPHA
How many people live in the chapter house?
We generally have around 50-60 members living in the chapter house per quarter. Each member is guaranteed a double with some members receiving a single.
Do I need to purchase a meal plan through Husky Food Services?
No! We have our own personal chef that provides us hot lunch and dinner every weekday. We also have bagels, toast, cereal and fruit put out for breakfast. Our chef caters to ALL dietary restrictions, making special meals for those that need them.
How much does it cost to live in?
The first quarter living in the house, first years are expected to pay $4,250. This extra $500 accounts for covering senior dues and initiation fees. The next two quarters the cost drops to $3,950 per quarter, just paying initiation fees. Starting after one full year in the house, dues are decreased to $3,750 per quarter. Our dues are an all-inclusive expense that includes food, housing, social activities, etc.
What is the parking situation?
We are lucky enough to have a large parking lot that all of our members may take advantage of for no additional cost. Every live-in member with a car is guaranteed to get a parking spot at the chapter house.
How is the academic standing of your house?
We take academics seriously at Phi Delts - quarterly grade reports can be found on the IFC website linked HERE. Around 25% of our members are studying engineering, 20% business, 15% computer science, and a healthy mix of other majors.
